Queen’s Crescent School in Chippenham, Wiltshire, has received a generous technology upgrade thanks to Grant UK, which donated a 75-inch interactive smart screen to enhance the school’s teaching and learning environment.
The touchscreen display, previously housed at Grant UK’s former headquarters in Devizes, found a new purpose at the school after the company relocated to Swindon in 2022. Installed in May, the device is now a central feature in the school’s recently expanded mezzanine level.
Home to more than 400 pupils, Queen’s Crescent School recently added the mezzanine floor as part of its ongoing efforts to improve facilities. The new space now functions as both a school library and a flexible teaching zone where educators can work with small groups of children. The addition of the smart screen has significantly enriched the experience, bringing lessons to life with its interactive capabilities.
The timing of the donation aligns with another major milestone for the school—its selection as a Microsoft Showcase School, a distinction held by only 600 schools globally. This recognition reflects Queen’s Crescent’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation in the classroom.

Headteacher James Essam praised the impact of the smart screen on daily school life: “The screen has become an essential part of our new mezzanine learning area. It’s used every day by both staff and pupils for small group work and specialist teaching. The interactive technology has proven especially useful for engaging children in SATs preparation and digital skills development, including activities like Minecraft-based learning sessions.”
He added, “We are truly thankful to Grant UK for this valuable contribution, which not only enhances our technological resources but also supports our broader mission of preparing pupils with future-ready skills.”
The screen has strengthened the school’s already impressive computing infrastructure and is playing a key role in helping Queen’s Crescent deliver immersive, inclusive, and modern education experiences for its students.
